ONE DAY AT SUKHUMVIT ROAD.
If you love the city life you will surely like to spend a full day at Sukhumvit road in Bangkok. The establishment of Sukhumvit road started right after the second world war was over. Ricefields made way for upscale villas for the new rich and famous. Nowadays the first 40 soi’s (streets/alleys) at Sukhumvit road are famous for great eateries, hotels, shopping malls and appartments for expats and Thai residents. Sukhumvit can easily be reached by BTS (skytrain) MRT (subway) and even by boat through Klong Sean Saeb which runs adjecent to Sukhumvit road. Becasue it’s so easy to get there and there’s great food around every corner it’s such a lively area. Many tourists, expats and Thai people come here to taste the best food and dance at the hippest venues until late at night.
Sukhumvit Road is the longest road in Thailand and one of the longest streets in the world. At the beginning at Siam Square it’s called Phloen Chit Road and Rama I Road but it changes to Sukhumvit after just a mile or so. This street runs all the way to Pattaya and continues almost to the Cambodian border near Koh Chang.
Sukhumvit road is not famous for many cultural or touristic highlights but you can spend one or two full days here to explore and have an amazing time.
Here’s our one day at Sukhumvit guide!

The park covers an area of approximately 200,000sqms. And it’s located opposite the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre. The park has many bicycle and jogging tracks throughout the whole park. This 19th-century Thai stilted teak house is originally from Chiang Mai and it showcases the Northern style of building in former days. It was moved to Bangkok by the Siam Society in the 1960’s. It is a breath of ancient fresh air between all the highrises and shopping malls that surround it. The garden has many typical Thai and tropical plants and the tools that are on display will make you wonder what they where used for.
